Stickers Galore

A few post down, I talked about the free stickers from Dogster. They have arrived and I have placed one onto the lid of my laptop πŸ™‚

And to add to my sticker collection, GMail gave out their own free stickers. Same procedure as the Dogster one, send a SASE (self address, stamped envelope) to them and they will send you back the stickers.

So… Not being in the land of the free, I sent in an International Reply Coupon (IRC), a self addressed envelope and a note to the GMail team back in mid December and waited. And a long wait it was. I didn’t receive it back until this week. (Opened the mailbox and wonder who sent me a mail from the USA)

So here it is, the GMail Stickers.

And the deadline for the free stickers is… Today… Sorry for posting so late…

PS: I find those IRC thingy to be quite interesting. And it would be great if I could collect them from all over the world! So if you are not from Singapore and would like to collect Singapore IRC, we could do an exchange! Drop me a comment below and I’ll contact you from there. πŸ™‚ (Just make sure you enter your own email when you submit the comment.

Blink of an eye

Wow… Just wow…

It has been four (!?) months since I last posted anything on this blog. And it was like just not so long ago… Damn, time flies…

Well… In this four months I have started and ended my internship, school had started, project deadlines are looming and the next thing I know, term break is coming…

Will try to keep this piece of internet real estate as alive as possible… (But judging from how lazy I am… That may be quite hard…)

Summer Vacation

It’s interesting how they call it the summer vacation, when it’s summer all year round in Singapore… But I digress…

Exams have finished and the vacation has begun. (for me, at least =P)
Was a pretty tough semester, with me totally not knowing what’s going on in ST2131 Probability and CS1231 Discrete Structure. At least I’ve already studied some of the stuff taught in CS4274 Mobile and Multimedia Networking back in Polytechnic. (yay diploma!)

Hopefully I can pass my ST2131 *fingers crossed*, considering how much I screw up in my CA… That and CS1231 too.

So for this vacation I’ll be working, at Guocoland as an intern. Starting coming monday, till early august, before the new school term starts. 8:30am to 6pm daily, monday to friday. I’m not sure if I can get used to the working hours.

In another news, Dogster is giving away stickers. The catch is, you have to send in a self-addressed and stamped envelope. Fair enough, but the problem is, I live in Singapore and Dogster is based in the U S of A. Don’t think our stamp will work over there… So after a brief researching (the comments actually…), I came across the International Reply Coupon. Neat! Didn’t know such a thing exist. Basically, you buy the coupon and send it to whoever you are corresponding with. They will take this coupon to their post office (must be a Universal Postal Union member country) and exchange for the minimum postage to any UPU member country. Sweet, now I can get a Dogster sticker and slap it on my laptop.

Long time ago…

Another two months passed…
And another two months of not blogging…

Sheesh… I don’t know why but I don’t really have the mood to post anything on this blog…
Anyway, don’t think there’s anything interesting in my life to post here for the past few months.

Since my last post, I’ve received my exams results, passed all of the papers… Whew, thought I was gonna flunk hard for my CS3212 since I I crashed my CA hard, but thank goodness I got a C for it.

Took up a part time job giving out flyers for JobsDB during the vacation. It was two time event though… Work once during mid December and another time just before school started. The first time, I had to wear a costume and give out the flyers and the second time just a sandwich board. Quite an interesting experience, not much people can say they wore a labcoat and an afro and paraded down Orchard Road. =P

Long time no see

It has been almost 2 months since I last blogged here. The reason for this long hiatus (well… ‘long’ by internet standards) is that this semester has been quite assignment heavy, so I either don’t have the time or I don’t have to mood to write anything here.

It’s the end of reading week and I my examination schedule is Monday (CS3212), Tuesday (CS3235), Friday (CS3103) and the following Monday (CS2103). Quite confident in most of the papers except for CS3212… Oh I’m so screwed for that paper… I totally don’t understand what is the module is about, at least the content… Oh well… Back to mugging… Will be back blogging after the exams! (I hope…)

New Bag!

Finally got a delicated laptop bag instead of just putting my laptop into my zeroshock sleeve and then putting it into my bag, taking up precious space and added weight.

Got my tri-color Timbuk2 from Fall Factor at Alexandra Village. Its a medium Laptop Messenger with red/soft yellow/leaf green colour scheme. Kinda rastafarian. A big messenger bag I must say, now I can lug more junks to school!

Tooth Fairy

Got my wisdom teeth plucked out yesterday at NUH and well… It was one of the few agonising moments of my life… Not that the procedure is painful (well… the anaesthesia shots were damn painful though…) but with the drilling and manhandling of my teeth, the feeling was sure weird.

The denist first shot up my gums with anaesthesia, think he went through like 3 tubes of those stuff, then the nurse wrapped my upper body with some cloths, to keep the work area sterile and protect my eyes from the glare.

The denist started off with some scrapping in my mouth (I think…), then he moved on to the drilling of my lower wisdom tooth. It was like a construction site in there, with the drilling first and the extraction with what seems like a pair of pilers.

Anyway, here’s whats left of the lower wisdom tooth, the ones at the side, and the upper one which is the whole.

I wonder how much the tooth fairy is willing to trade for these =P

Absolut Complete

After looking high and low for Absolut Vodka’s mini Raspberri vodka, I finally found it at the 7-11 at Marina Square. After that, Murphy’s Law kicked into action… I seems to be seeing the mini Raspberri in every 7-11…

Anyway, after starting the collection some 2 years ago, it is complete again.

She sells cheese pies

Went to Wala Wala last night with Hairol with the intention of getting shitfaced after I got my exam results but instead, we got stuff to the max with pizzas…
Ahhh… Finally a DBS credit card that is not useless. Apparently, DBS and/or AMEX has a promotion with some bars (Wala included) for 1-for-1 on beers, housepours (including soda mixers), pizzas and pastas. Schweet!
So we ordered a Seafood Mariana pizza and a Garlic Chicken pizza. and instead of getting high on alcohol, we almost got sick from all those pizzas.

And did I mentioned that The Unxpected were playing yesterday?
They started off with Keane’s “Everybody’s Changing” and they were awesom, right from the begining. They played a couple of covers and also some of their own songs. And all I could say is that they sound great live. On the second set, they got a birthday boy up to the stage and attempted to get him drunk and recite the “She sells seashells…” tonguetwister. They also introduced a permutation of the tonguetwiste: “She sells cheese pies at the cheese store”. What tonguetwister will you get? Its up to your own imagination.

On Government Service

If Singapore was still a crown colony, it would be On Her Majesty’s Service, which sounds nicer… But I digress…

Anyway, gotta re-enlist tomorrow… Going back to 3 SIR (Silent and Effective!) to serve out the remaining of my NS liability. Heard from Guo Wei that it’ll be stay-in and that I’ll be posted to S2 branch. To do what you ask. I’m thinking I’ll be there pushing papers, but then again, I might be wrong and they might get me to go chiong sua… To milk me for all I’m worth… (In the sense of paying me combat allowance…)

And because over a year ago, some idiots posted some videos and pictures of army camps taken from their cameraphones on the internet. The SAF, or more specifically, the MSD (I think), decided to come down hard on cameraphones… And I, on the hand, have hunt for a non-camera phone to book-in into camp… Bummer… Bought a Motorola W220 today, after searching high and low to borrow from friends and relatives…

Quite a nice phone, simple and no frills. Very loud, and I do mean very, ringtone also. Still can’t quite get used to the small screen though… Since all my previous phones have quite a big screen… Well… High resolution to be precise.
